Our Team

Providing skilled, compassionate care to our intellectually and developmentally challenged residents is a source of pride for our entire staff.

But our care doesn't start and stop with our residents. It extends to the families and friends of disabled adults and children who would otherwise have nowhere to turn for help.

Take a moment to meet our extraordinary group.

Rod Walker

Owner/Chief Executive Officer

Bio

Rod Walker’s journey into the world of caregiving began as an adult, with his own family opening their home to foster kids with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. The experience was eye-opening for Rod, deeply embedding a sense of purpose and commitment in him. As these kids grew into adults, Rod realized this was an opportunity to continue care. He transitioned this commitment into a professional calling by opening an Adult Foster Home and then expanding into 24-hour residential homes. This move wasn’t just about scaling up; it was about continuing to offer a family-like support system to even more individuals across the state. Tavros Care emerged from this blend of personal passion and professional ambition, epitomizing Rod’s dedication to making a tangible difference in the I/DD community.

Rod enjoys unwinding by spending time with his family, diving into books that expand his horizon, and traveling to places that offer new experiences.

RJ Walker

Vice President/Chief Operating Officer

Bio

RJ Walker has been around the caregiving industry most of his life. RJ grew up with his parents providing foster care services to children who experience intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in his family home. This has given him an exceptionally deep understanding of how necessary it is to provide solid supports to people in the I/DD community, and how meaningful those supports can be to the individuals served. While RJ graduated with a degree in Business from Oregon State University in 2019, he chose to apply this experience and education to the I/DD field.

In his free time, RJ likes to explore new cities, listen to podcasts, read, and watch sports.

In June of 2020 I started working at Tavros care as well as two other companies. In 2021 I worked strictly at Tavros Care, between all of them, Tavros Care has always listened to not only their employees but the individuals residing within the company. Tavros Care not only asked me what my career goals are, they asked how we could reach this goal and how they could assist me by reaching this goal. Within the last two years of working with Tavros Care, I was able to work my way up from a Direct Support Professional, to Lead staff, Program Supervisor and currently the Direct Support Professional Trainer, which was a short [term] goal of mine. I love that this company strives to promote within, listens to feedback from employees and [support is] always available when needed.
